For 21 years, my wife Susan and I have chosen St. Barthelemy, French West Indies for our annual vacation. Like many others, we begin our trip with the apprehensive thrill of landing in Paradise.

After retiring as a Connecticut pediatrician in 2004, I decided that it was time to pursue a different dream. I wanted to create a year-round reminder of the fantasy of St. Barths, a small sense of belonging to a special place.

So I designed L'avion, a clothing line that captures
what we all experience when arriving at SBH Airport
- the feeling of FREEDOM. You know what I mean!
